What to Look Forward to at the 2021 Emerging Arts Leaders Symposium: Part 2

socially distant but not socially disconnected

Top Ways of Connecting During our Virtual Symposium:

  1. Engage and Participate in the Discussions - The quickest way to stay visible during a virtual event is to engage and participate in the various activities actively. One thoughtful question during the Coffee Chats or comment you make in the Slack group can spark conversations with others and lead to future collaborations.

  2. Identify Your Networking Goals - While it may be tempting to want to talk to as many people as possible at the event, we suggest setting a specific number. This way, we can focus entirely on having great conversations and not just going through the numbers.

  3. Share on Social Media - Post your participation on social media and other platforms like your website and blog. When sharing on social media, be sure to use the event-specific hashtag #2021EALS to reach more people interested in the event.

  4. Follow Up! - Ideally, you want to email them within 24 hours when the conversation you had with them is still fresh. The rule of thumb for the first follow-up is to say something nice in the message. You could thank them for the conversation and insights they shared.
